Reunion Time—Come One, Come All!
We, the Class of 1958 Reunion Planning Committee members, wish to express our hope that the coming Class Golden Anniversary Reunion would be successfully staged this fall on Kendall Green, October 16-18, 2008.
It would be neat if we, all of us, could get together once again after many years of separation, in many cases.
Message from Class of 1958 President Richard Bonheyo: "It is with the greatest pleasure that the reunion committee welcomes you to the Class of 1958 reunion. I am sure you feel at home regardless of the new surroundings and that you will find much to enjoy and appreciate your time at Gallaudet University, our alma mater. I want to thank Lyla (Broderius) Northcutt and her committee for all the assistance, information, and encouragement they offered us so that we all will have a great weekend with our old and new friends. Fifty years have passed and we are here to celebrate the wonderful years we have gone through our days at Gallaudet. Looking back to the time when we first walked on the campus, life has truly changed for most of us and we are thankful for the Gallaudet spirit."
As your reunion chairperson, I would like to add a few words to let everyone know that I really appreciate the special committee and their enthusiasm to make the meetings going very well and smoothly. Actually, we all agreed that we are a good “family” unit. So hopefully, all of you can come to the exciting Golden Anniversary Reunion—“a lifetime jewel.” We are fortunate to have great local classmates helping out with the reunion planning. They are Joe Cohen, Bill Terrell, Nancy Anderson, Clarence Russell, David Burton, Bonnie Caswell, and Ronald Nomeland.
Daphne Cox, Associate Director of Alumni Relations, is helping pave the way to ensure success of our anniversary occasion. We, the committee, are indebted to her for her enthusiastic help. Thank you very much, Daphne.
Packets have been mailed. You will find all the information you need for the reunion. Reservation forms for Kellogg Conference Hotel (KCH), registration, and schedule of daily activities are enclosed in the packet.
Although the reunion will start Thursday afternoon, we encourage you to be in town by Wednesday, October 15. You might like to take advantage of the optional “DC Duck” tour Thursday morning and get a thorough sightseeing to see how much Washington has changed during those 50 years. You wouldn’t see the old DC Transit streetcars, but will have chance to ride in the Metro subway.
